Hand thrown stoneware vase elaborately decorated with a hand drawn landscape. Finished in hand painted blue and white glazes. Crafted in the Cotswolds.
 
Through the use of slip, drawing into green clay and choice of glaze this vase celebrates the Cumbrian Lake District which provided much influence at the beginning of my ceramics journey.
 
The form of this vase is inspired by classical Greek vases with the design bordered in, separating the elements of the landscape. This also inspired the handle, though my twist is a tree trunk which seamlessly grows out of the body and into the neck of the piece.
